Expert Mental Health Treatment, Training, & Research

Massachusetts, California, & Maine

We believe that all people, regardless of gender, race, or identity, deserve access to the highest level of treatment for difficulties with mental health. At the Boston Child Study Center (BCSC), we offer flexible, individualized therapeutic services that can quickly be increased in frequency to meet the needs of complex presentations and reduce hospitalizations and needless transitions between higher levels of care.

How do I know if BCSC is right for me?

Finding the right therapist can be an exhausting process. Our clients and their families often report seeing as many as 8 – 10 different providers before reaching our doors. This is a significant burden that families are often forced to carry during times of crisis and at significant cost.

Our team at BCSC are experts in mental health who are intensively trained in multiple evidence-based treatments. This training and expertise allow for flexible and adaptive interventions that can treat the whole person by addressing a wide array of symptoms and complexities. Our intake clinicians take on the burden of finding the right therapist for you by matching clients and families with best-fit providers based on client needs, therapeutic style, and availability.

If you are a young adult, or are the parent or guardian of a child, teen, or young adult who experiences mental health difficulties in California, Massachusetts, or Maine, BCSC can guide you through the highest caliber of treatment to address your and your families’ needs. With a commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusivity, we warmly welcome all individuals under the age of 30 and their families seeking support for mental, emotional, and behavioral health concerns.

The BCSC Difference

We see emotional distress as a valuable indicator that core needs are not being met, rather than a symptom to be solved. Solely seeking to eliminate emotional symptoms teaches us that our emotions are too difficult to feel and manage. At BCSC, we strive to help individuals and families understand the signals that their emotions are sending so that they may work towards building a values-syntonic life and subsequently reduce overall distress.

Our measurement-based care approach integrates cutting edge research with flexible applications, providing gold standard care.

We believe that a team approach to treatment yields the best results. Our clients and families are typically assigned a combination of individual therapy, skills groups, caregiver coaching, psychiatry, and more to break down barriers and redefine mental health solutions.

For families in need of financial support, we offer sliding scale fees that start as low as $2 per session. In addition, we offer our treatment in a variety of languages and translation services are available for non-native English speakers.

At BCSC, we respect diverse identities and the principles of equity and social justice. We embrace diversity and individually tailor treatment plans to honor the many unique pathways towards wellness.
